Reykjavik, literally "Smoke Bay", is the capital of Iceland.
Thingvellir was the site of the Alþiing, the annual parliament of Iceland from 930AD until 1798AD. Thingvellir is now a national park. It lies in a rift valley that marks the boundary between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. Scenic Gems video.
